Just got an update from Stu47 on Bjerkreim, and it occurred to me that we should be gathering data on the many rivers in SW Norway to share with our members of (Salmon Fishers).
This is because it is very accessible place to fish given that you can fly from London, Aberdeen or Newcastle to Stavanger in about 1 hour odd and be fishing some of those rivers within 3 - 4 hours drive. It is a perfect location for a long weekend given that the Norwegians allow fishing on a Sunday.
Starting off with the Suldal River

Hi Salmo,
Sounds good when broken down like that.
What would it cost to fish say for a long weekend flying out of Aberdeen.
Cheers

Hi Salmo, Sounds good when broken down like that. What would it cost to fish say for a long weekend flying out of Aberdeen. Cheers Hornet Good question. It will depend on the advance booking of the flights. Car rental can be expensive but we will get some quotes around Stavanger and come up with a pricing model. The other variable in Norway is the price of accommodation. Hotels are fairly expensive like in UK, but we can review self catering options. Over there they have a lot of hyttes (cabins) which can be around £50 per night for 4 persons. It will take some time to gather this data but we will have some typical costs so that you can consider your options in 2008. salmo
