Tail and dorsal fin look raggy, and also on the thin side, could be a recently mended kelt.

Looks like a hungry kelt to me. Do the sea angling magazines ever publish anything about close seasons for sea trout? As well as poaching by taking a sea trout without a permit, it is out of season.

My money would be on it being a kelt. Generally speaking if in any doubt, then they are probably kelts. Cheers F
