I think all rivers should have a professional run hatchery to try and help with the fish stocks.

Nice video clip, I have never collected brood stock that way, just with the electro poll and pack, I was amazed to see this process work the first time out. Like you say Hornet, I would like to see every river with a hatchery on it, as a backup or top up plan to help fish stocks. Habitat first. More 20+lb fish for the boy Hornet to catch

the EA chap was lifting the fish by the tail when transferring them from the bucket to the tank. I've heard tailing fish like that damages their spine.

Fish put out at the stage in Sept have a very, very high mortality rate as well, and require a massive input of work to get them that far. EA can obviously sink more money in to these things than your average fisheries board.
