Hardback published in 1997. Contains 192 pages and includes some colour plates and several black and white pictures and diagrams. The claim is that this was written as the next step from his previous book, some may thinks so. It is certainly one I reach for when cross referencing anything. Comments and reviews welcome:

While published in 1997 and therefore not containing developments of the last few years, at the very least this book is a solid guide to fly fishing for salmon and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to the average angler and beginner. The author is clearly an intelligent and thoughtful angler, and with his open and modern approach to the subject most anglers will be encourage to learn and advance their skills. The chapters of the book are Fishing Records, fly colour/size/speed, changing flies, tubes and waddingtons, choice of lure, spey casting, how to fish rivers with their differing currents, a practical guide through the salmon season to advise on techniques and approach, then brief fly tying material and flies sections.
Anyone who has learned the information and mastered the techniques contained within this book would be an above average angler.
