hi forum members would like to donate a prize its a bruce&walker 9ft6 border fly rod w5-6wt in excellent cond,,for the 1st springer caught from 01/2/2008.NO springer lookalikes eg[baggots,kelts,rawnors]fish must be photoed,preferbaly with date on lens,,good luck all for 2008

Very generous offer Fishqueen. But would like to make the start date the 1st May? There is about as much chance of finding an honest MP as there is catching a springer on the River Ayr before May!

1st outing for the season today. Went to the Dee at tilbouries and was rewarded with a nice springer of 6-7lbs complete with sea-lice Stuart

There were 2 fish caught today, the other about 9lbs. There was one caught on friday as well.
The wind wasn't too bad today but the water was cold when wading (not wearing neoprenes!!!)
Great start to the season.

It was caught on a 1 1/2" black and yellow tube fished on an intermediate line and a 10'fast sink polyleader.
