Sooner or later Devon minnows are going to be in short supply. Both the remaining two independant manufacturers have retired recently.
Between them, these two manufacturers supplied most of the minnows sold by retailers. Copper lined wood, copper lined plastic, wooden floaters and plastic floaters, even fantails and tadpoles are no longer being made in any significant amounts.
One company, The Devon Minnow Store, who sell on eBay and their website have cornered the market and bought up 75% of all the remaining stocks. When I bought some recently, I was told they had over 10000 devons in stock and would not be supplying retailers, only anglers or angling clubs. Smart move by somebody.
