Without wishing to duplicate replies from elsewhere;
General Gear:
Waders - not neoprene, but definitely felt soles - studs may be useful Jacket - have a good windproof/waterproof in case of sudden weather change Layers - light & wicking Gloves - supplied for handling fish for photos DEET is the best protective for the insect life Glasses - a must
Rod:
Anything you are comfortable with - 15' through to 9', depending on your casting preferences; most useful 14' #9/10
Reel:
Durable/bombproof drag is the best weapon
Line:
Floating multi-tip, but shooting heads can be most useful. Take spares! as there are NO shops!
Backing:
Minimum 150 metres per reel/spool
Polyleaders:
Possible, but not necessary
Leaders:
Nothing less than 18lb bs; Make of leader material - personal choice
Knots:
Improved clinch & perfection loop
Flies:
Pick your choose - anything from large templedogs & sunrays, through cascades & shrimps, micro-tubes/cones & hitched minis to muddlers & bombers - ALL colours work, but preference for red/black, orange/black combos - don't forget the Green Highlander on doubles!
Hooks:
Be prepared to use anything from #2's down to 16's Use those you have most confidence in You will be asked to flatten barbs, and NO TREBLES ALLOWED, so don't even think of taking any!
