i have just re-designed the aberlour angling website it is hosted on the speyside web site that we have run for several years now it gives you information where to stay where to eat etc and generally whats going on in the area i try and do a report every week and there are some nice pics of other beats as well. www.speyside.moray.org/Aberlour/aberlourangling/ABERLOURANGLINGHOME.htm

not that many forty to fifty plus a few young members but the river is never that busy i work in aberdeen sixty miles each way but it is nice in the summer to have a cast in the eveming after work i also enjoy the brown trout fishing on the dry fly in the spring, there are some big trout in the spey but it is great to be able to fish whenever you like i also do a bit of ghillie work at ballindaloch i presume you are a tay man

Hi Ken, I'm actually more of a North & South Esk mannie with the odd Tay & Tweed trip here and there. I have a syndicate rod on the South Esk along with forum members Stip & Hentool. When i'm not fishing this i will be fishing the North Esk at Pert or Stracathro. I will need to try and make a Spey trip this year as it really does sound superb. Cheers Hornet

Your weekly and daily tickets sound reasonable Ken and pics seem to indicate a nice piece of water. What do locals pay in comparison, as you may be aware from this forum some of us in the Borders are disgusated with the way the Berwick and District AA have treated us locals in abandoning season tickets and making day tickets available from one inconvenient outlet.

we pay£70 for the seasonand we can fish whenver we like it is a nice bit of water not so good when the river is low the fish tend to run through but there is always a chance of a fish it used to be known as the free water years ago a bit like peebles i used to live in edinburgh and spent most of my weekends in the borders trout fishing tweed gala water the lyne happy days
