Its been a strange one this - just a wee pocket centered around Aberdeenshire and into Angus. The expression "micro climate" springs to mind.

All of the rivers along the coast north of Aberdeen are very high and coloured and it is still raining. Here is the North Ugie looking downstream from the Broch to Mintlaw road this evening, the light was starting to go by this time.

Graham, is taking a photo from a moving car legal? Surely it is as dangerous as using a mobile phone?

Well hopefully no one in the north east has been washed out of house and home by yesterdays rain which seems to have been a bit on the prolific side. Meantime here in the Eastern Borders tributary levels remain pathetically low, the Whiteadder Down from 6inches this morning to 5inches tonight , Till being little better. Although an decent fishing on the main river the smaller ones do need a foot or two if any fishing is to take place before season's close.

Graham, is taking a photo from a moving car legal? Surely it is as dangerous as using a mobile phone? Not in this case. Graham has a micro system sellotaped to the rim of his fore-and- aft which is triggered by a one click RC system operated by a biddable Furby friend of long standing - or so I'm led to believe.

Rivers on there way down. Don at Alford now 3' 3" and falling. 5' 9" at Haughton and falling. N. Esk at Logie Mill 3' 5" and falling. S. Esk at Gella 2' 5" though rising. You would like to think with decent weather over the weekend, that fishing next week could be good.

I wonder what the Cruives and Pot Sunken were like down below. Tweedcast

Well rain aplenty in the south east today, the A1 awash in Berwickshire, drove up a B road two hours ago and it was virtually like a stream with every field gateway lending to the torrent. It will be intersting to see if any fresh fish appear in the Till and Whiteadder next week.

Lamson and I were washed off the Annan at Hoddom, on Saturday. River had risen 2' by 10am Steve fished Hoddom on Friday and I was upriver on St Mungos - very few fish to be seen and catches for the week were poor - although a 20lb fish was taken on Jimmy's Stream at Hoddom on Thursday.

Conwy at Llanrwst, before rain after rain I'd guess that the flood today peaked about 2'-3' higher than the bottom photo = the cottage on the far bank was under water by at least 2'

Cumbria and the borders seem to be under water at the moment - over 8" of rain in parts of the lake district today, with another 4" on the way. Just seen the main street in Cockermouth on the news - under 12" of water from the river Derwent.
