Hi,
I've become involved in the running of a local fishing club which has run successfully for some time and whilst this reflects well on the club my day job involves process improvement so I know there is always room to make things easier for everyone.
One example is where we allocate fishing the club has purchased via a ballot. The process is quite manual and time consuming so I was wondering if anyone knows of, and would be willing to discuss, any fishing allocation methods (ballot or otherwise, computerised or manual) in use by clubs which may help speed up our process? The process would need to be operable for up to roughly 500 members.
This first question also led me wondering whether any network exists between clubs where they can give and receive good ideas on how to operate efficiently? Does such a thing as a 'best practice model' exist for operating a fishing club??
I may be looking for something that isn't there but any suggestions or advice would as always be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, Nolon.

Owen,
Golf clubs seem to successfully run ballots for their members. Try contacting one of them to see if they could help.
I will ask my boss who plays golf around Bridge of Earn what his club does.
Can't see Six Sigma providing a solution on this.
Cheers

Hornet,
Good idea, will ask around. Found a ballot system in operation on the Old Course, dont expect this will be cutting edge though as tradition is a commodity for them. May give them a buzz on the offchance though.
Thanks & let me know how you get on with your boss.
Any more for any more??
Nolon.
