Was down in Kelso yesterday for a few hours Casting Lessons with Eion Fairgrieve on the River Teviot. We focused on casting from the right bank this year as most of my fishing is on the left and feel i need to be able to cast from both bank if i want to do more fishing this year. I find the double spey quite hard off both banks but i love the Snap T and Snake Roll, i can get a cracking bit line oot. I would recommend Eion to anyone, great teacher, very friendly chap too. Its a pleassure to spend a day in his company!!! speycast.co.uk is his website if you want a look. A few pictures...... i left a very snowy East Lothian and arrived in a lovely sunny Kelso had a coffee and my 9am the snow had started, when Eion arrived the ground was covered. We decided to play the lessons by ear. It turned out just to be an hour on the river as we were worried about me getting back home...... the pictures tell the story. was really looking forward to fishing on after the lesson and giving my own flies a good soaking..... maybe next time eh. I drove home along the Tweed and have a few picture of Fairnilee and Cadrona, i will pop them in the Tweed folder if you want a look.
