This is my first thread so please bear with me. Some of you may have heard of the British Deer Society, a charitable organisation which exists to protect the welfare of deer. It is not a "bambi" organisation but caters for stalkers, those of a scientific bent and those who have a general interst or prefer photographic stalking. It was formerly part of the Mammal Society. The BDS is shortly to hold an auction comprising (to date) some 109 lots of which 19 are fishing related, 42 shooting/stalking and the rest holidays/breaks, accessories, books/films etc. Lots can be seen initially on www.bds.org.uk and, with effect from 18 May, on www.eBay.co.uk. Usual eBay bidding rules apply. Postal bids can also be made on the same basis. Closing dates and guideline prices are quoted. Proceeds of this annual auction are earmarked for education and research projects. I am a member of the BDS but other than that have no involvement. I just thought it might be worthwhile bringing others to the table as there are one or two rather tasty offers, offers that I will not be able to bid for due to some rather expensive dental bridge work just incurred by my wife which has necessitated a reduction in my own plans for the shooting season (salmon will always take precedence!)
