Does anyone use this knot for flies in preference to, say, a double turle or half blood? Anyone got strong feelings either for or against it? I only discovered the knot recently and have used it a couple of times since. The jury is out as far as i'm concerned, but it is easy to tie and probably gives the fly more movement. Cheers, Feugh.

I do use it for very small flies during low water, I think it gives the fly more movement. The knot is easy to tie and is reliable as well.

Turle or blood for me - always been suspicious of anything that even vaguely resembles a 'Grannie' knot - but thats me. As Graham say's, knots such as this might facilitate a greater degree of articulation in small flee's.

I use the Rapala knot for loops in fluorocarbon; never found another that holds as well.
