Agreed, the Tweed and the Tay's catches appear pretty depressing

Agreed, the Tweed and the Tay's catches appear pretty depressing As do the Spey and Dee's chances at less than a 10% chance per day per rod as well. Hoping you will redress the balance next week tho'.

The Dee seems to be doing 'ok' for recent years, the Spey maybe quiet up to now, but i'm sure it will spark into life very soon; especially during May and June. I really can't see anything special happening on the Tweed or Tay, unfortunately.
Fingers crossed for next week - 20lb'ers on the skated collie sound exciting though!

On the Berwick & District A.A. water this rule has applied to all migratory fish salmon and sea trout from the start of the season until June 30th. It is to be hopes that anglers on the Whiteadder and other tributaries are aware that this rule applies to them also. Unconfirmed reports suggest that a number of anglers cannot read these instructions and not only that are unable to distinguish a spring salmon from a very lean kelt.

I was told the reson why it has come into force is that too many fishers were breaking the rule of first one to be returned. They were becoming too greedy in the amount of fish retained rather than returned
