Saw one this evening as I was sitting in a boat fishing for trout. The weather has been really hot this weekend, but one swallow and a lot of sunshine doesn't make a summer. ;D
Any sightings north of the border?

Haven't seen any swallows yet, but the sand martins have been here for over a week.

Saw the first swallow yesterday, about 10 days earlier than last year.

I was watching 5 newly arrived swallows 2 minutes ago. It is rare to see so many together this early in the year, although I have seen the odd one wearing a fur coat on 1st April in the past.

Saw the first at Strathhaladale on the 7th past, but none seen here in the Borders so far.

I saw a couple of swallows beginning of last week. So they have made it to Yorkshire.

I forgot to mention that there was a corncrake disturbing the peace here on the 17th. There was not much cover for it so I think it will be cat food by now!
