Hopefully there won't be too much rain over the weekend. Then mid week fishing should be good hopefully with fingers crossed. As for the midges, the can stay away.

Dreich ower here. Was intending to take the bairn to the Angus Show today in order to see some quality livestock up close as the 'pop - up' book versions are becoming slightly dog eared. Spent the afternoon looking over a few bridges instead. Heavy drizzle with no real sign of it affecting water levels - yet. Not to worry, Strathmore Games tomorrow - there's always a fabulous WRI tent featuring a range of 'Nobel' standard baking.

We had a fall of snow on Snowdon's summit yesterday!
I fished for sea trout until midnight and had to pack in as my hands were numb with the cold.

...I fished for sea trout until midnight and had to pack in as my hands were numb with the cold. Similar story here, it was 3 degrees when I stopped at 2am. (and I'm not talking about Prince Charlie's favourite pop group) It's been raining/drizzling in Kirrie since 9am. The South Esk should be up an inch or two tomorrow. Thinking about it Kirrie is in the Tay catchment but it has been wet up Clova and Prosen today.

Watching ( trying too I should say ) the Grand Prix and it's stopped due to rain, looking out the window and it's peeing it down again.
Then that rather nice women on the telly says Northern Scotland is to get over 52mm (2" to the auld yins on here!) tomorrow, along with high winds.
I have a trip to the Clyde on Tuesday evening when the rain is supposed stop, but will the river be fishable.
Anyone know where it's sunny?

Just back from the river (5.15am) not much doing! Are we sure it's June......... air temp 6c, about 3c cooler than the river, and don't think it's to get much warmer over the next few days.

Sea trout fishing hard going up there on the lovely South Esk. Here on the Dart at Buckfastleigh there are some great peel but so hard to catch, especially with the amount of water we've got. Maybe after this unsettled weather we'll get better conditions. I'm looking forward to my visit North next week. Two months in Scotland: great. Adipose

Next Tuesday is the key! Everything seems to settle down a bit after the longest day, no more big swings from day and night air temps and the river should reach 52-54f and remain at about that temperature.

Well, it looks like the forecast heavy rain showers have unfortunately missed North Lancashire. Lunesman
