yes i got that lug-gar but it doesn't fit (i don't think?) with the clue? The **end of the sea worm** (="ug"?) starts with half of a car’s home (="gar" or "age"?) gives garug or ageug!? ah dinna ken yon rivers

No the clue does not fit but I suspect it is the answer. You did better than me, I had got 21 of them by the time you posted the answers. that was my thinking graham. the clue is kind of back to front. maybe i am wrong but i suspect it may be the answer.

On reflection I should have asked for the answers by pm However, as Windknot got most of them right in very quick time I think he should be crowned winner. The "official" answer to the sea worm and garage clue was Lugar. I did discuss with she who must be obeyed that the clue was a**e for elbow at the time but my concerns were dismissed! And yes is was Glengarry for the hat! I was impressed by most of the clues so I'll see if she can be persuaded to make up another which will be answers by pm. I'll liaise with the winner by pm re the prize. Thanks to all who participated. BnC
