I agree - similar background in photos on club-laxa website - upper Kola. But it does not fit with " not as far west as BC.

John's got it - yes, it's the upper Gaula At this point, it's just above an impassble fall, so there are no salmon. Unfortunately, I didn't have any licence to fish the Gaula at any point, & I was just sight-seeing. A magnificent watershed! Mike

Here is the 'barrier' falls @ "Eidets Broe", upper Gaula These are the falls immediately below the outlet of the pool above which was initially posted. The falls are about 4m high, with no obvious 'station' for salmo to leap to as an intermediary step to getting over, so it appears a true "stopper" Mike
