Maybe a tricky one, since this is such a small river. As a clue, this is a river in North-East Scotland. The pictures were taken during a wee trip on Hogmany to check for fallen timber blockages. Surprisingly enough we found none, but I'm not so sure that there'll be nothing down after the wind earlier today.

Too easy again - my clue was too early and obvious. It is "the mighty Cowie". I had the pleasure of looking through some catch returns from "the old days" and was surprised to see that this little river used to produce over 100 sea trout a year from a single pool! Catches are not as high nowadays, but we do a lot of habitat work each year (unblocking tributaries, etc) and things are moving in the right direction. The 5-year trend is very positive.
