There's a couple of posters on this thread who aren't being honest with either themselves or others on this forum..i find that rather sad.. As for the death of Scottish football..what a load of b####ck's! I can remember when Scotland had a strong Aberdeen, Dundee Utd..etc that;s what will happen...more young Scots will get their chance with these clubs and the like and will be better off in the long run. I too can remember when Aberdeen and Dundee Utd had strong teams Colin, there was also a time when Rangers and Celtic had great teams as well but sadly those days are now gone. As for giving young Scottish talent the opportunity I am all in favour of that, but again as it is now the cream of that talent will just be lured South by the big Bucks. Come away the Buckie Thistle ;D ;D ;D ;D

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D the cry was no reminders!..or was it simply the bust!...or it could have been.. god pay the queen!.
Bill...it's always been the case that the better players move to England.. nothing will or have changed there..i think you miss my point..which is Scottish football will not die because that lot are at the wall..it gives other teams a better chance....since all these foreign players were introduced, our game here has suffered...and we all know who introduced them first....now look where it's got them.....lets see what size of crowds they get if they survive because they are nowhere near as loyal as the tic support. Billy..... ;D

Off course footie wont die up here Col, what I meant was that Scottish football as a spectacle is dire and has being getting worse for years. With the Teddy Bears now going to the wall though it will no doubt though give other teams a better chance. You lot might even win the league now for a change ;D ;D ;D Think on this though, what will be left at Paradise Park when the Bears overhaul a 14pt lead.

The finances in English football may be false, propped up by Sky TV, but the gulf in quality of the football between Scotland and England is sadly very real. Even with a 10 point deduction Rangers are in a clear second place - says it all about the SPL. Surely even the most blinkered Celtic fan can see the bigger picture. The SPL is dire because there are only two teams competing for the league year after year. How bad would it be with only one team? Maybe the best thing would be if both Old Firm clubs disappeared.

The English league is a two horse race...is it not ! Yet again another doom and gloom merchant...read my last post and think about it.....yip the e-English league is better quality ..it always has been, even before the big money...nothing has changed there . Given time the smaller clubs and Scottish football in general will improve because it will become more competitive....blinkered.... Look at Celtic for instance...average age 20...and most of the players have a sell on value..this is the way forward for football as a whole....with more young Scots given a chance.....who's blinkered now.

The English league is a two horse race...is it not ! No. When did Man City last win the premiershup? Yes it has. The gulf in class is a cavern compared to what it used to be. By hoping Celtic's only competition disappear the league will be more competitive? ;D Yes, blinkered I'm afraid. You'll have to explain why removing the money Rangers bring to the other clubs through gate receipts will make their players better footballers. Not often an Old Firm fan admits to being a selling club As a football fan I hope you're right but but fear your optimism may be coloured somewhat.

Well it is a two hose race this year..and was last year too...and whats Man city got to do with it !....my point is it is a two horse race...get it! The gulf in class is bigger now, because the young Scottish talent don't get the chance to progress like they used too. They are football fans..and they will take their hatred of Celtic else where as long as there are a Celtic around...and going by the clubs financial situation it looks like they ain't going anywhere. On your last point...Celtic and Rangers have predominantly been selling clubs..their best players always move on and have done for years... wingsland.podgamer.com/why-scotland-doesnt-need-rangers/

My point was that it's not the same two horses every year. Much less predictable than the SPL. Why not? Plenty hate on both sides. Lets hope it doesn't reveal itself on this thread. Or am I too late? I'm from the East coast of Scotland so maybe I just don't get it. Think I'll get back to the thinking about salmon fishing.

Not pre Souness it wasn't.....it would revert in time back to a fair playing field. Then Celtic and Rangers were 3rd and 4th in the league,Aberdeen and Dundee Utd were the dominant force for a while in Scottish football.
Simply an influx of too many foreign players.
Lets hope the hate does not spill onto here...as a protestant Celtic supporter from the east coast also i'd be surprised if it did.
Remember Celtic are a club that have been and always will be open to all.
Why don't you read the link on my last post...it makes interesting reading..i think so anyway...but i'm sure you'd be more interested in trying to pull my pudding.
It even suggests that Scottish football could be better off without both Celtic and Rangers..something i think you suggested in a previous post.

Remember Celtic are a club that have been and always will be open to all. Gil Scott-Heron's father played for the 'tic in the 50's.

Rangers are only the first as I believe that they are the test case for the tax man. If they thought they had a chance of wining then they wouldn't have called in the receivers once the tax man proves they are liable for the tax a precedent will be set then they will go after clubs in the English leagues only then will the silly money paid to players might become more realistic

I agree with everything you say Herbie.
But do you think HMRC will get anything out of this at all ?
It looks as is RFC could go into liquidation...unless some sort of agreement is reached...what a mess.

As I understand it herbie, Craig Whyte as preferred creditor is at the top of the list.
