Seeing that most people who go fishing seem to be men, but women are better at fishing than men, do you like women to be fishing on the same beat as yourselves?

I don't see many female fishers, I think they are generally more conscientious than many men-who are lazy, but then surely women would need various qualities in order to get by in a generally male environment? Women may have more patience but I don't know whether they make better anglers, so much depends on experience, not just brains. Some men go fishing as a reason to get away from their wife but I don't think such are serious anglers, I don't think I would mind having women on the beat, I wouldn't mind anyone-just as long as they don't scare the fish.
Do you think that you may suffer discrimination, whether it be syndicates/clubs/beats not taking you seriously and not allowing you to join, or being stuck on an "out of the way" pool. Or do you think you benefit/suffer in terms if receiving special/over eager attentiveness?
While I there is nothing to say you aren't as tall as me, and I realise I'm making some judgments here....do you know whether women (who are generally smaller than men) have any trouble with tackle, such as waders for example. Do you find it difficult to find them in the correct foot/leg/chest measurements or do you have to make do with ill-fitting waders?
Sorry if my questions seem stupid, I am a man!

There has to be 'something' about women anglers that seem to allow attraction of the larger fish, but I'm entirely convinced on the pheromones stuff. There may be a scientist out there who will fill the gaps in our knowledge about that one.
Whilst I would agree that women are, in general, of a shorter average height than men, which may have the potential for problems in wading depth, I'm not convinced that they would have any significant problems in casting with rods and tackle that we all use.
My wife came on recent salmon fishing trip with me for a whole week; she is just 4 foot 9 and a half inches tall. We managed to get the smallest lady Simms waders which fit her, and matching boots.
Although starting out with 14' Sage (9140-4) #9 rod, and balanced reel/line, which she did catch a grilse on, by half way through the week she was casting (and hooking fish - no more landed!) with my Loomis 15' GLX #9/10 with a 15 yard Guideline floating head and small tube flies, and she preferred that set-up!
Go figure!
Mike

I personally have not been sent to a pool far away from the rest of the people fishing, and if I was I would put a serious complaint in, I have paid the money just like the rest of you and expect the same treatment to a certain degree. Tackle etc, well I don't suffer from being a short arse for a female so I don't have that problem. I know for a fact that when I have been out fishing I am taller than quite a few blokes. It is surprising how much respect I get when out fishing which is very nice to see. But there is always the odd one who thinks that he is the best and women should just like willie gunn thinks that we are there to serve them. Think on.

Good post there YE, My wife suffers far more discrimination when out shooting with me than when she has fished with me. Her shooting skills are good - her fishing skills are limited - One would think it would be safer to discriminate against a lady angler than a lady with a gun, but that is not the case for some reason ;D

Don't give a d**n which gender fellow Rods are. I did hear a spey casting demonstrator say at the Kelso angling fair that women new to fishing were likely to be more successful than men. Due mainly he said to the fact that they were not forever trying to outcast other Rods but were content to fish a length of line over which they had total control. Tweedsider

I thought that, especially for salmon fishing, that their (the laydees) pheromones gave them an advantage to the extent that people have tied flies incorporating their wifes short and curlies. Is this urban myth or should i be posting a request on the SBS flytying thread... How about it Speyducer, pubic dubbing ;D
