Sorry to hear of your loss.
As the days, weeks & months go past, things will happen that trigger the fond memories of your times together and will bring a smile to your face, even a giggle. For a none doggie person, the loss of a dog can be hard to imagine. More tears can flow at the loss of a dog than a family member.
Jura will meet up with our Uncle Fester over at Rainbow Bridge, chasing rabbits together. Run free Jura, run free.

Well after discussing pros and cons of dog ownership we have finally bit the bullet. Having decided to do it we then had to decide which breed. I wanted a couple of border terriers to call Merry and Pippin(yes I grew up with LoTR and The Hobbit) and The Lovely Kay wanted a Cockerpoo, I just bring myself to say that I owned a dog with the words C*ck and Poo in it. Then on a walk along the canal side we saw the right sized dog for us, a Golden Retriever. Two weeks later a work colleague mentioned to The Lovely Kay that his pregnant dog was having a litter and she is a GR. would we want one? As GOLDen Retrievers born during the Olympics they were named after gold medallists. Ours is Rutherford, yes I know one syllable too long, but brings back fond memories of super saturday in a pub in Weymouth watching Jess, Mo and Greg(Rutherford) claim golds. I think it's a fantastic name, an air of faithful loyal butler about it. Rutherford (Ru) at 12weeks We've had him a month now and yes it's required a lot of change, but we love him to bits and have not regretted a moment of the decision to take the plunge.

Lovely pup Dave, you'll have to try the Rutherford beat on the Tweed now, the ghillie likes his labs.
