Great link Kenny. I visited the place many years back and was impressed with the views but this web cam is pretty amazing. The people who spend their lives protecting and promoting our wonderful wildlife deserve medals.

I've regularly been watching a nest in the Meigle area recently. Not quite sure if the eggs have hatched yet. Fabulous birds.

First time I have seen or heard of that. I would have thought the parent would have put up some sort of resistance, rather than just buggering off like that.
While they say its a natural one off predation, I don't think so, as that Buzzard will be back for supper.
Shame really after all the Ospreys go through with their migration travels etc

As they say - nature can be cruel sometimes. The Meigle nest appears to have produced at least one chick so far - which is nice.

I wonder how the RSPB view the killing of ospreys by 'rare' buzzards?

I wonder how the RSPB view the killing of ospreys by 'rare' buzzards? They will blame the nearest gamekeeper for not producing enough pheasants!!

You would have thought, or at least I would, that the presumable mother would have stood her ground?
