Thanks for your candid feedback Greig. Constructive criticism is always welcome in all aspects of life and glad you take it as such. I love any fishing program's on the telly, even Robson Green I'm sad to say, in fact there isn't enough game fishing on the television these days and was looking forward to your offerings. Good luck with future plans assuming you get your camera gear back and all that! Thanks Kenny, I collected the camera from where he left it to find it totally unusable due to the damage Andy has done. So bad that the metal has actually split! Fortunately I have aback up but this does not excuse the actions on nearly £4,000 work of equipment out of badness. Needless to say I will be pursuing through the correct channels. Totally unacceptable!

Hi Stoney,'£'s are indeed at the forefront of my thinking, after all, I run a business that brings people in to this country to fish from around the world. This in turn helps hotels/accommodation providers, beats, ghillies, guides (and myself) and so on. The channel is there to help promote the destination and entertain, which in turn drums up bookings, which in turn pays the wages. Every location we have featured have reported an increase in bookings on the back of the shows, this can only be a good thing. You will find that most programs out there whether fishing related or not, are/were commercial ventures, that includes Hooked on Scotland, Matt Hayes and so on, we are no different other than the fact that the investment is my own and not a broadcasters, and it will stay that way. I appreciate that you do not like the 'Hooked UK' name. I am more than happy to hear any suggestions you have on the name which are commercially viable. You can ring me on 07528 624200 or drop me an email at greig.thomson@salmofishings.com. Failing that happy to meet up when I am in your neck of the woods fishing later in the year. Keep up the good work on your blog, enjoy reading any thing wild trout related. Best, Greig P.S. What was your name again? As ever and to your credit Greig, a very courteous reply. I'm not so sure my bad temper would have allowed me to compose a similar response. As i in a previous post said, i have no problem with some-one who lives and breaths here promoting our fishing or making a bit of money from it aslong as that is done in a responsible way and for the benefit of us in Scotland. I'll certainly e-mail you with a few suggestions when i get a chance. Regards, Trout From About.

Interesting reading. All I have to say is, I will be filming on some of the top salmon beats next season. Beats where others will not get. Viewing figures & YouTube. If you can't see open stats then assume they are bought. Deeper into the stats a reputable company will let you see minuets watched. In the shooting world recently a YouTube film company was found out buying through the company Virool and lost most of advertisers and quite rightly so. Not only that but Gun Trade news ran the story on the front page. Andy.

Would you like to take some 'Eye Candy' with you Andy? I,m sure some viewers would like to see a 'Lady' taking part in the shows. What beats will you be on and will you be fishing yourself? I,m just curious after you said Greig was a hopeless caster, just how good you are! I am available any time you like and look forward to hearing from you............. Will it be safe to bring my camera with me? Anyway, good luck with your new project hope you catch some nice big ones on the fly and leave the spinning gear at home. Feel free to PM me, And we can maybe get a 'Kelly kettle' brew on and have a wee chat.

Nice to see folk following this post. I'm keeping the woodpile dry at the moment. FromField2Stream are 100% clean we have no YouTube stats problems and have been asked to film the top beats in Scotland. Absolutely credible and not after free fishing. We are here to promote Scotland's fine sports.

All joking aside Andy, your films are very good and can only get better. There is definitely a gap in the market for all Salmon related film. Good luck with your new venture and lets see your first before too long, the spring is just around the corner and is probably the most popular time of year for Salmon anglers. Personally I would like to see more of the Tay, Forth, Tummel, Earn and Isla/Ericht.
Good luck. Kerry Chalmers.

Hi Andy. Who do you have lined up to take over the 'front man' role in future productions - yourself ? There are a few members on hear would create interesting footage - but you might have to add subtitles. Welcome to the forum bye the way - enjoy your work.

Shows are going back to the mix of fieldsports we first started with. There will be a good mix of Salmon fivers & beats covered each month. I don't see just one person being covered. I will be filming folk whom know their beats well and will show the best ways to fish them.

I look forward to the Peebles Crown Water episode. Would that be a plug for a champion caster?

I hope never to see again a Skagit and a Snaelda...........so predictable in every show............even thought while watching the 'Lake' episode it might appear. More traditional stuff for me... C,mon Andy give us a taster of whats to come!

Would that be a plug for a champion caster? Or a masterclass in dwarf wanking? EDIT: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT... A quick word of warning, please do NOT search the above "height impaired person" term on any platform! What has been seen CANNOT be unseen. The same advice also applies when ensuring you do not miss the letter "r" when searching Gary Oldman.

Seriously though, and on topic this time. ANY salmon fishing programme is welcome, nae matter who presents it. A different presenter each episode sounds like a welcome idea. "Behind the camera" spats and feuds should stay exactly there where they belong, public airing of dirty laundry is never pretty*. As others have said, sound quality improvements need to be made, equalising the volume difference between voice and music would be a good place to start. With regard to programme content, I would personally like to see more fishing and less "blether/yap", less of the arty shots of a Range Rover on a dusty track. Perhaps a 5 minute slot in the middle of a show to highlight specific flees/tying, tackle, maybe a good video example of perfect C&R?!? (or a perfect humane kill if you're so inclined) . A view of how the presenter "sees" the river and likely taking spots before demonstrating fishing it effectively would be helpful too. If the name Hooked UK is staying, maybe consider going south of Carlisle for a couple of days? This post is not aimed at Greig or Andy in particular, just my general thoughts. Thanks to both guys for producing something enjoyable to watch, hope you both do well in the future. *Unless it's that foxy tart from number 47 (where Ernie parks his milk cart [barely contained euphemism, sorry ], fastest in the west don'tcha know!).

C,mon Andy give us a taster of whats to come! Kerry Chalmers. Kerry, thanks for your constructive feedback as always! Unfortunately I need to use a Skagit as I am a terrible caster and this is the only way I could get a line out. So much so I am thinking of changing the name to the Guddling UK as apparently that is the only way I can catch fish! The guddling worked a treat in Russia and I am sure the Guddling with work well when filming in Canada this summer. Anyway, fish aside, when are we going on that date? Cheers, Greig P.S. Here is another shite show from up north, viewing figures for the last 24 hours are appalling at just under a 1000. Looks like i'll need to do one of these dodgy promoted posts to bump up the views (don't tell anyone though)! P.P.S Anyone looking for cheap guideline / hardy rods, go to Errol car boot sale this Sunday! I ain't gonna be needing them as i'm tickling arses from here on in!
