2.45pm. That's the sun back out. With the current heat, any fallen water would have probably evaporated by now. Maybe help the tattie farmers.
I see the 'armchair stone' on the Finavon Castle web cam is almost sitting high and dry - usually a good marker to keep your eye on.

11.03pm Dundee. Thunder and lightning - torrential downpours.
I see the Southie at Brechin has gained 1". Probably due to water extractors being turned off rather than rainfall.

Incredible amount of rain on the way up to Aberdeen today. There was about an 1/2 an inch of standing water all the way from Stonehaven to Aberdeen. Got to be a bit of a rise today. Hope so anyway.
Cheers

Big rain in Angus - but no obvious signs of levels going up as yet.

The Southie is up 2 inches, so it's now minus 5 inches instead of 7 below normal summer level, I'm off to Englandshire for a few days, planning a Sea trout trip on my return.

It rained in Stornoway for all of 1.5 hours today!!! This should get rid of the dust for a few hours at least.

Just had the second thunderstorm of the day here on the Berwickshire coast 9 pm, torrential rain for a brief spell. This mornings downpour did not wet down as far as the young tatties when I dug a shaw this afternoon. Some rise in levels within the Tweed system mainly I would think from surface run off, but as some one else has mentioned the shut down of irrigation systems may also have helped.

Lots of electrical stuff happening during the night over Angus but no rain. One of these nights where you felt uncomfortable waving a rod around.
Looks like the weather we have been experiencing over the past few days has done nothing more than to wet the top soil and to turn off the irrigation pumps for a few hours.

The Northie doesnt seem to have risen much if all, but all the fish below the Loups are off, not one left tonight.

We're having a torrential rain storm of which I have never seen the lkke before. It's so heavy the gutters can't cope, the road outside resembles the South Esk, and its flattened most of the herbaceous flowers in the garden.
If this doesn't put the rivers up, nothing will!!
