ABOUT THE PROGRAMME In this packed 45 minute Tay Special, we return to the River Tay near Dunkeld for the second in our Tay series. We visit the stunning Newtyle beat in Perthshire, where we meet up with friends for a cast, talk tactics and take an in-depth look at this popular middle river beat, where we will try and catch that elusive spring salmon. We have co-presenter - Andy Toft sharing some words of wisdom, where he demonstrates exactly why he is the World Champion at Spey Casting. Also, with the beat having recently been acquired by new owners, we meet up to discuss their exciting new plans for the beat in the not too distant future, and take a look around the accommodation that they have on offer a short distance away from the fishing. Lastly we also travel to the River Tay Hatchery to meet with Tay Fishery Board Director, Dr David Summers, where we look at the expanding Kelt Reconditioning Program along with the associated funding initiatives that are currently running. We hope you enjoy the programme! Fly Fishing Channel (click here to visit the channels website)

Definitely getting better. Sound improvement is dramatic. A decent variety of music but some of it is a bit repetitive. That's my only criticism.
Too bad you didn't get a fish.....I'm experiencing similar days at the moment.

Thanks for making these, certainly beats all the rubbish on TV. If you're looking for constructive criticism (everyone loves an armchair expert!) I would edit out the musical interludes and put in more fishing. Good to see the butcher getting yet another Newtyle salmon.

I would edit out the musical interludes and put in more fishing. Good to see the butcher getting yet another Newtyle salmon. Thanks for that, its a tricky one, because some people want more fishing some people don't mid. We need to keep the shows commercially viable hence the tackle talk, advertisements. The rule of thumb is that if there are plenty fish then we will show, if there are not then we will diversify a bit. I do take your point though. The music, scenic shots etc work a treat for our Canadian and American viewers so we have to keep that balance. Comments appreciated though!
