I generally dont use the outbound either, the much cheaper Norris line works fine for these applications. For those interested the outbound is a bit long here on the Upper Tweed, even with a shorter rod it is often on the far bank when properly loaded. Malcolm

If integrated heads are working for you both then you should of course stick with what you can comfortably cast and what works best for you. For my own part I prefer to have as much flexibility as possible and feel that an integrated head would deny me this. If I want a faster swing then I can stick a floating head on. If I want a slower swing then it's remove it and put on a sinking head. I find that this works for me very well. www.silversalmon.co.uk

All good valid points guys, appreciate you all taking the time to reply. Although I like the idea of the integrated head Rio is out for me at £75 a pop. Now I will probably go and buy couple of john Norris lines to see how they fair on it, if they ain't too good then it's not a great loss at £20 a go.

ATB Bryan Graham alerted me to the Norris Evolution, as it was known then, a couple of season ago - a really nice, supple line. If I recall correctly they were on offer for about £10. Couldnt fault it.

The Angling Active integrated shooting head kit is supposed to be excellent value and line.
I say supposed to be, as I have one and have yet not had the opportunity to stick it on as yet (after two years) and was hoping to get to the river over the close season to try it out.

Kendo Nagasaki and Billy Shrimp you are both missing a trick here. Using a separate running line and head will turn you into a goddamned sexual tyrannosaurus, just like me www.silversalmon.co.uk

Didn't get the sexual joy that you seemingly experienced lol But hey, it might happen on the river bank 2015

If I were moderator of this forum you would be off for 6 months with your rude and insulting remarks. I am not, so I simply post my comment about your unacceptable "manguage" as a point of reference. Whilst maybe seen as normal on other forums your remarks are unacceptable to the large majority here and they lower our standards They do not go unnoticed. Tweedcast

As somebody who knows Spaterunner very well, I don't think his comments were in any way meant to upset anybody. I'm sure there was no disrespect intended.

For my own part I can only apologise unreservedly to all of you for the crass comments I made earlier in this thread. I have a penchant for making what Tweedcast described as 'rude and insulting remarks' but I hope you all believe me when I stress that they are never, ever aimed personally or with malice at anybody. I deliver them very much tongue in cheek and they have up to now at least always appear to have been received in the same spirit. I did not and do not think that any of you are 'slack jawed faggots' nor do I honestly believe that I am a 'goddamned sexual tyrannosaurus'. I dare say that Bill Cook does not believe that he has the 'jawbone of an ass'. I must concede however that at this moment I do feel very much like an ass. Rather naively I see this forum as a kind of home and have never really felt the need to moderate what I post before doing so. The way this thread has now turned has forced me to rethink that one. I genuinely only try to inject a little bit of humour and usually my first target is myself. The offending comments were actually taken from a film I saw some years ago but I will not at this point attempt to shift the blame to Arnold Schwarzenegger since this has been my doing Best regards, Geoff www.silversalmon.co.uk

For my part geoff, we have had a wee tiff early doors and we swept it under the carpet soon after, never met you (yet) but I take your wind up name calling as just that. In fact I quite like kendo and might register it or just go deed pole. I think perhaps Malcolm thought you were serious and that was his reason for what he said, had you of course been serious, then he would have been right to say what he did!. a wee kiss and cuddle will sort things out amicably and adult like. We can't afford to lose any of you two stalwarts from here. (well where else would take you for a start ) Pecker up Spatecrawler Malcolm get your erse back on here. k
