I would suggest that some members might want to opt for a spiral bound diary ; link52 individual week pages, each with 1, 2 or 3 images Year planner Red or Black diary cover Just a few pounds more than the calendar Might be useful as a fishing organiser/planner which is portable. I would use this as a meetings diary anyway. Alternative 2 Using the Apple iPhoto calendar, this has to landscape format, text font can be tailored, very flexible image layout, and each day can be customised with for example opening day/closing day dates. The apple software is fabulous and easy to use as you would expect from a non web interface. There is no need to check the print/material quality - I have yet to see a sub-standard apple printing product. Malcolm

Love the idea of a diary - only problem (if it is a problem) is the getting of approx 52 images as opposed to 12. But a diary might have a wider appeal than a calendar ?? Mind you, Malcolm's A3 Photobox calendar example looks nice and fresh.

Having rested up a bit over the festive period.
I vote that the calendar should take the form of Herbie's original suggestion Tall Layout - a neat layout with three photos per month, small month text and a bold month in vertical format. Makes a refreshing change from "normal" landscape calendars.
Also option of and/or diary is what I feel many members may want - I would buy both.
If anyone wants a semi-custom layout based on the forum chosen format I will do the tech stuff if they cannot (eg if there is an image/River they would rather forget) .Cost would need to be confirmed on a numbers basis.
Need to identify some timescales here given the fishing year has already started for some.

That to me is a clear acceptance of membership onto the formal publications committee - what a guy !! How about Herbie + Rob as the other 2 ? I'll help out where I can.
I feel a calendar and a diary might be a bit adventurous for our first foray into 'nought for profit' merchandising. A calendar is probably much simpler to 'manage' for this first venture - just my thoughts.
This could work.

Aye Andy I am still hear there is a local printer that I am going to see what they can do but they have been closed over the festive period hopping to get by them this week to see what designs they have along with prices and quality. Hopefully we will start to see a few photos coming in as the season is about to start next week. Bryan

I got a few options from the local printer today We can have whatever amount of pictures we would like on any page it is all the same price also as Tweedcast suggested and also have opening day of rivers and closing days along with any other information you think relevant one option shows the moon state along with other notable dates throughout the year. Another has an advertising panel along side the dates or we could have a combination of both. This examples are A4 image page and A4 date page stapled in the middle as having it wire bound adds more to the cost I believe an extra 60p. The minimum image quality at final size is 300 dpi and the example costs are as follows I will have to double check but I presume those prices are plus vat .Those examples are from good quality calendars with nice clear pictures. 250 calendars £1357= £5.43 each 500 calendars £1459= £2.92 each 1000 calendars £1655= £1.66 each 1500 calendars £1850= £1.23 each We would have to see what sort of uptake there is before deciding on quantity or see if we can get some sponsorship. If there are any other forum members that have or do use printers the more options the better. Bryan Attachments:

Malcolm - are you out there ?
I think the best policy is to at least start taking / collecting January pics in the meantime.
Where's Geoff ??
