Just been for a drive round the bottom of Aberdeenshire in my new motor, Dee looked nice near Banchory but the North Esk looked dirty as did the Westwater. The South Esk looked a better bet, not sure when the next band of rain is due to hit, the fields looked very sodden with puddles of standing water.

Nothing like it - foot on the gas and the fabulous smell of 'new car'. Unfortunately my new motor now reeks of a heady mixture of baccy and white pudding suppers.
More rain today - hoping to get out myself this Thursday. Should be in with a decent chance of fish on either Esk's under the current conditions and at this time of year.

Don was very dirty yesterday but as I had gone all that way I had a go anyway. Nothing doing...a lot of muck coming down as the river has been very low for weeks now. Saw a few fish running which is good news. Perhaps I'll have a go later in the week. Hissing down again today so probably Thursday should fish all being well.

I'll be giving the Southie a go this Saturday. Fingers crossed we at least see something.

There is a certain frescance (spell checker can't spell it either) about the pong of a new exhaust , banned from the fry ups by my doctor, this growing older malarkey isn't all it's cracked up to be............
