Aye it really has worked well on the Dee! Wait till 2015 figures are added to the graph it will look like free fall[/quote] I would be very interested to see the data that shows that Catch & Release on the Aberdeenshire Dee has contributed directly to conservation of the natural populations of salmon using that river. I have heard it said that C&R is a political 'Linus Blanket' for people to feel that action is being taken, but that the reality, given the relatively small number of salmon required to provide biological replacement, is that C&R really doesn't make much difference. I really don't know what to believe, so any evidence you can provide would be helpful. Adipose.

Hi Is there any updates in which category the river are in ?
Can anyone tell me which category Dee and Findhorn are in (The Spey should be Cat. 1 - I have heard).
Where do I find the data/info ?
I am sorry if I have missed some of the information because I have not looked 100% into it.....
Regards Henke

Regards Henke As in most things useful I have included the link in my weekly Spey report. www.speyfisheryboard.com/week-commencing-29th-august-2016/ if you do not wish to see how the Spey fished last week you could click directly here. www.gov.scot/Resource/0050/00505047.pdf
