Looking at the S.P,E.A. website for the Earn at Kinkell this winter has had high water for most of the time. Do you think that there will be any spawn left undisturbed. There is a lot of banking been washed away and was wondering if this silt would suffocate the eggs. Bob

Bob Hard to say for sure Bob, but when one sees the gravel movement that was seen on various facebook posts and the television, there will be IMHO, huge losses of eggs. No doubt some will find a settled location in the backwaters or deeper pools where the force of the water may not be as great as the surface speed, but its only a guess of course. So I gather 2019-2020 will be tough years for the returning fish, based on the flood damage just done.
