Heavy rains the past couple of days, lots of new snow in the hills above the river. River has doubled it's flow which is good and bad.
The bad part is much of it is a 'pick and choose' for a place to reasonably use a fly rod. The good part is over 2,000 winter steelhead have gone through the counter at Gold Ray Dam just north of Medford, Or in the past week. In three weeks the fish counts have gone from just a tad over 800 fish to 4700 (top 30 miles of the river).

Heavy snow years often make for long and sustained runs of migratory fish. I hope that turns out to be correct for you this coming year salmo
