I have 2 books by this author: "Success With Salmon"Hardback book of 168 pages, first published in 1988 (part of a series of Success With ...... books). This is an instructional book which I have not read thoroughly so will not comment at this point. "The Salmon Fishers Year"Hardback book of 112 pages, first published in 1990. This is what some people call a coffee table book. It contains a mixture of black and white pictures and drawings with some colour plates. Each chapter (12) covers the months of the year, with anecdotes, some tips and suggestions for that time of year. Not an detailed how- to book but if you like reading about fishing, a nice book to own. Comments and Reviews welcome

Robbie
I used to know the two guys shown on the cover of The Salmon Fisherman's Year. Does the book say anything about the photo?

Hi John, The only mention says that the fish were taken on the Nith and caught on the spinner. The editorial is in the month of November however who knows the real month the fish were taken ATB Robbie

Success with Salmon was a good guide for the beginner, in its time.
Question about the Salmon Fisherman's Year Book, how many kippers are on the front of the book? Two or three? ( I bet those two anglers now wish they'd heard of catch and release!)
