Hello folks!
This thread seems to be where new forum members are introducing themselves, so I thought I would do that as well.
I fish the River Ayr - staying close by. Salmon fishing for last 25 years or so. Manage an odd trip to other rivers. Booked for a day on the Nith on September.
I see there are few Ayrshire anglers on the forum as well. Looking forward to joining in the discussions and picking up some hints and tips.

Welcome freend. Hope you can benefit from, and get involved in, the forum. Plenty of Ayrshire fishers here and fine lads everyone.

Thanks for the warm welcome Sinkingtip and dunkeld.
I'm fishing the Dalswinton stretch. I was there one day last September - lovely looking bit of water. Unfortunately it was rising quite fast that day. Didn't catch anything, but saw more salmon in the morning than I have in the last 10 years on the Ayr.

Thanks for the welcome!
I usually fish the tweed at Tilmouth or Ladykirk but have an opportunity to fish the North Tyne Tarset beat on 23/24 October. Anyone know this beat or able to offer advise?

Thanks for the welcome! I usually fish the tweed at Tilmouth or Ladykirk but have an opportunity to fish the North Tyne Tarset beat on 23/24 October. Anyone know this beat or able to offer advise? Should be plenty of fish up there then, albeit mostly well past their best but you never know Self explanatory beat and very easy to fish imo; watch out for the rapala chuckers in the bushes on the opposite bank

Thanks for the advise - i only use a double hander myself but i'll wear my tin hat in case those rapala chuckers get too close!

Welcome aboard Dillon. Feel free to contribute where or when you can. Having downed more than a few glasses of 'Newkie Broon' over the years perhaps it's time to pay my respects and fish the Tyne. Its on the list.

Hello all,
Just joined the forum myself so thought I would do the polite thing and introduce myself.
I live in Inverness and mainly fish the rivers Moriston and Findhorn. My photos of Fredo aka Gordon from Stornoway appeared in the recent Moriston article in the Trout and Salmon.
I am a native of the Isle of Skye and make several trips home over the summer months to fish the River Snizort/Skeabost when the spate is on.
Looking forward to joining discussions and picking up tips along the way.
Tight lines for 2013
