Dear fellow Anglers,
This week we have some really crazy offers, we have just released a totally crazy auction for Namsen in Norway with a starting price of a 50 EUR, 6 rods exclusive beat at “Storem”, good week. As you might have heard Norway has had dream start this season and might be looking at a record year. Value of this package is 4.400 EUR.
I promised you a report coming home from Ponoi, but I am afraid not much to say since Ponoi was covered in ice and fishing impossible. We were offered Lower Kola River or to go home and come back later. We gave Lower Kola a shot even though a big risqué due to the very early week and Murmansk had very cold temperatures. I must say this is a wonderful place and I will be back but we the Ponoi team caught nothing; however the main Kola camp managed to catch 10 salmons in tough conditions, well done.
As a result of these cold conditions Lax-a decided to shot down at great expense both Ponoi and Varzina for 2 weeks. All together these cold conditions must have affected a lot of hopeful anglers all rivers included, but it always a risqué to go early. It looks much better now, the Ice has broken and good number of fish being reported, Kola is really coming back with really good catches now and Steffen Juhl just reported last Saturday a 100 fish caught, despite cold conditions and high water. Today we received a new report, that the new team has already caught 80 salmons in just a few days, so Ponoi and Kola is back on track now, stay tuned for our daily reports at Laxaonline.com.
The season has been pushed with 3 maybe 4 weeks so it seems, and this could easily mean that July and August could be the top weeks on the Kola Peninsula. But due to all the cancellations and re-bookings, there is already a great demand on these weeks. So for all of you who was “left behind” and for you who sees an opportunity, I have listed the weeks we have presently here at Laxaonline. Please note they are sold quickly now day by day. Please don't forget Visa takes time to process.
