Anyone know what the best kits are for making Flying C's? I see some on Ebay, McHardys and the GAC and wondering what the best forming tool is etc.
Thanks

A friend of mine got the kit from McHardys, before he bought it he phoned them and they advised him on which forming tool would best suit the condoms he wanted to make Regards Lunesman

Just been looking at their catalogue online and there are various kits. I would like to make up a selection of colours eventually at both 20 and 28 gram weights.
I'll probably give them a call tomorrow.
Cheers

Mchardys is the way to go - very helpful and will deliver in a more realistic timeframe than GAC!!
They will advise on bet size of blades/clevises etc to suit the size of bodies you are using. They also have a good selection/range of options in terms of tubing as well.
For heads depending on what you want to do I found the best place to go was one of these bead/jewellery making places. They have a good range of flouro green/pin and other colours of suitable size beads. Most of the tackle guys have standard colours and some teardrop...certainly on the Tay, the flouro beads work well.

Ossie,
afraid I have never bought the beads online as I have a shop about 5 mins away. I am sure a google of bead suppliers including those listed on ebay will come back with 100's of options.
I paid about 4.50 for 100 assorted beads

I have been making my own FC's for many years, and went thru various component suppliers till I discovered Spintec, of Blackburn Lancashire. Not ordered from them for maybe 18 months, but the rubber latex bodies they supplied did not rot or tear in use. Used to supply friends with FC lures and always had good feedback, I can say I have had a few fish on lures made from these bits and pieces.

Could be worse Col. On a certain N Wales river, the 'bailiffs' fish through the pools with rapalas early morning, before the paying rods (mostly fly) have arrived.

Thanks for the spintec info.
Although I am not sure why the thread was hijacked and all the associated pregnant doging.
