Irvine running clear this morning ibm59. Don't know what it could have been. I know that there is a soils recycling facility up near the bypass bridge and I've noticed that there has also been alot of earth works going on up near Kilmarnock by scottish water I think.

Just seen on the news. This cold snap could last throughout the month of April. Yes I saw that.................no doubt to be followed by a drought and a heatwave to spoil the sea trout fishing.

Just looked at the forecast and there is a S/SW wind forecast from Sunday.........so there will be plenty water and all the snow will be gone for my next excursion in mid April. (I hope!).

I just hope it is a gradual thaw and that it does not result in a large spate.

No doubt we could do with some Snow melt, hopefully not all at once though. Where are you fishing mid April Gordon.

The combo of snow melt and rain is creating some huge rises up North.
Check out some of the webcams to get a scale of things

Good news hopefully, at least it will help dilute all the salt and grit lying on the roads when it gets washed into the rivers.

Currently around 3" of snow has fallen in the past 2hrs (lowland So. Angus / East Perthshire) - and it doesn't look like letting up any time soon. Hopefully this late 'dump' will ensure decent levels during May - that's assuming we don't get a sharp rise in temperatures and it all decides to come off the hills in a single torrent.
10.30pm - now at 4+".

While its great for us if it does stick to the peaks as long as possible, the damage to the ground nesting birds must be very damaging. Mother Nature for you
