Nice one, it is hard to beat a bit of sledging with the kids. Pity the sledges have gone into semi retirement since we moved to Ayr. Builnacraig

Salmo you should have put on some Aerosmith then it would have been more like the Rockin Roller and she could have went commando ;D Good suggestion Hornet - obviously your military training has paid dividends for you. Summary Report: Part A successful in making flight more of an entertainment exercise; Part B incomplete due to a faulty timer switch and security alert! salmo

Excellent idea salmo - having a 'board' dedicated to weather and travel would be extremely helpful to those traveling from afar. Splendid work. regards STip

Perhaps we should have a thread for The Cairn O Mount and The Cabrach as these are both pilgrims routes ;D

There is a small side benefit of snow & cold conditions, and that means that such 'precipitation' (as the weather persons like to call it) keeps the river levels steadier, without the larger & rapid rises following rainfall, and then a slow snow melt trickles water down to maintain river levels.
Also, the lower water temperatures may slow up the spring fish passage rates, perhaps giving a more even distribution of such early runners through the river, and when the water warms up some, there may be a reasonable chance of a fish in more pools & beats.
?a snow cloud with a silver lining, perhaps?

Mike Except when you get a warm spell with rain, then all the snow goes at once and you loose the entire week with 8ft of high mucky water.

Still snowing heavily today up in East Sutherland. Also believe it is snowing in Inverness. Entertainment from a couple of nights ago. Still needs a bit of definition and the final touches. Who and what? ;D hf (I'm behind the camera by the way
