I would think the drought is officially over, at least here in the NW. Last night 100mm of rain fell across Cumbria, and it is reported that Lake Windermere came up 4ft. Lunesman

Spare a thought for those of us in the West Country, our drought still isn't over. No real rain since April. Worst affected, as always, is the Exe. A bit of rain a few weeks ago brought it up to a desprately low level! If it wasn't for the Frome (which is also as low as I've seen it) I would have given up completely. There's always next year Andy

Westwater(for the benefit of those not familiar a trib of the North Esk),near Edzell.I've not fished it before,so looking forward to it now as I'm told it's a classic spate water, what with a fair amount of rain today. Any advice for me from any one?

Never fished 'the Westie' but from what I've seen of it it's a single handed job - good luck.

I'm motivated by the "beastie " on here ...http://salmo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=southesk&action=display&thread=2411 Definately need a double hander(at least),mind I'm thinking it's my turn to win the lottery tonight as well,so maybe over optimistic.

There is no justice. Here I am in the rainy part of the country with no rain whilst the rest of you all have high, falling river levels. Looks like sea angling again.
