On Monday I travelled down to Fishers Cottage with another member of the forum for some casting tuition.
I would just like to say how enjoyable the whole experience was - the tackle advice made a big difference - trying out different set up etc.
Tom and Jean were great and I left with a lot more confidence than I arrived with!

I must agree with you craigewan, Tom n' Jean certainly know how to make you welcome and also know a thing or two about spey casting and Tackle selection, Any beginners or anyone needing some fine tuning in their casting would benefit greatly with a lesson From Tom n' Jean,Also situated in a prime Location only a Good Spey cast from the River...........

I'll add my thanks to Tom from Fisher's Cottage. My last outing on the Tay this Spring left me with serious elbow pain so while fishing Middle Kinnaird on the S Esk on Saturday I phoned Fishers Cottage on the off chance that Tom or Jean could give my casting the once over. Tom kindly came down, diagnosed my faults and gave me some basics to work on. Like a golfing lesson, it's going to take a bit of practice and time to undo my errors and train my muscles to do the right things but at least I know what I should be doing. We worked on single spey casts off both sides of the river and I also saw the benefits of a properly balanced set up. Like the posts above I can highly recommend Tom if you need some casting help.
