I was all set for a spot of dredging with tungsten tubes today. Sadly, the rain missed us.

Just been across to Coldstream this morning, plenty water everywhere lying in fields but roads not to bad. Whiteadder is just into the field downstream of Allanton and the sun has just come out.

Time for a rain dance. Alness heading for summer low, and not much rain in the air next week by the looks. I could do with a plan B for the upper beats!

Bang goes any thoughts I might have had about going up tomorrow for what would probably have been my last South Esk cast of the season. Looks like Angus and Aberdeenshire is bearing the brunt of it again. Not to worry - I can now put a second coat of eggshell on 'the wee bedroom' skirting board.

Looks like you are going to get your biggest spate of the season, I see the neighbouring North Esk is at + 9 feet 5 inches and rising. The rain has been non stop up here as well, so looks like most of the Aberdeenshire rivers are going to get a pummeling again.

Graham, is this good or bad for Monday? As long as the rain stops a couple of days before, we should be OK.

I see the gauge on the SEPA website showing the Devereon to be up 6ft or so, if this keeps up i think Monday will be out of order for my last day.

Its dropping off nicely then. It was over 41' when I seen it last night. Should be in good order for a cast on or around the 3rd of Nov. By my estimate. Pity thats the close season ;D ;D
