Fishing trips, tackle, permits, licences, fuel, accommodation, meals, drinks, tips, more tackle etc etc. It all adds up over a season. A trip to Russia might be £5k+ How much will you have laid out by the end of this season? Feel free to have a stiff drink after you've done the sums! ;D

Strange how it mounts up, like Neptune I've broken a rod this season, bought a pair of waders plus all the bits and pieces for fly tying which all mount up. Of course HMG and the oil companies are making it an expensive business to get to an from the river. Still it could be worse we might be golfers. ;D

I know I will be spending less next year, travelling north is getting very expensive per fish.

I have probably spent £2000 this year all in..ie fishing, takle ,petrol,ect.....Alan you earn much more £ than i do.. Its my debonair good looks which do that Col, sorry but just cannot help it or give any advice along those lines. I will have spent half of what you have ,mainly on tackle and travel and very little on fishing itself. Must retain some funds for blasting the burdies out of the sky when season comes around again. tweedsider
