We'll have to hope that the Glenfarclas poured into the river on opening day is the 105 Proof and that it's poured in above our beat, not below. That along with some 'hot air' at the opening ceremony should do the trick! Jock, can you pass the word I hear that the ceremony has been cancelled.

Plenty ice their for your nips. Cracking pics. I would not like to chance fishing with grue coming down as i would fear for wrecking my lines. Last years Dee expedition in the snaw was enough for me never mind the grue. Cheers Aye, the ice is made from the real stuff and not your local tap water The Dee in Aberdeen is full of grue, I can only guess it will be far worse up river. Forecast for Aberdeen tonight is -5 with a daytime temp of +1 tomorrow. The forecast for later in the week doesn't look much better, fingers crossed the metoffice have it it wrong SAY

Congratulations on your Dee fish Say. Here are a few photo's of Speyside this morning. I couldn't even get the kettle on as the Gas Bottle had frozen.... I won't tell you how I defrosted the padalock.... OAT -14 and as you can see, not favourable conditions. We'll have to hope that the Glenfarclas poured into the river on opening day is the 105 Proof and that it's poured in above our beat, not below. That along with some 'hot air' at the opening ceremony should do the trick! Jock, Thanks, after seeing the River Dee today lady luck must have been with me on Saturday. Then again I had my fair share of grue last season. Hopefully it clears this week so I can have another crack on Friday and Saturday The pictures you posted, is that your beat..?? Looks lovely water SAY

Well good luck for the week-end Say. We'll hopefully have a cast at some stage this week.
Yes those photo's today are of the boat pool, our bottom pool. Not a bad cast with an average of around 400 fish shared between both banks and the Aberlour AA.

Would love to fish it in prime time !

We fish it off the bank on anything above 1'6" on the Fishspey gauge. Below that and down to 1' I still think it is a better pool from our bank however below 1' its certainly better from the Wester Elchies side. The wading is very easy Andy.
Fortunately, it's one of those pools that you can fish at any height and as long as the fish make it up through the iron-mongery below, there's a good chance of some sport.
It's particularly good for catching running fish and as far as we are concerned anywhere between 1'6" - 2' (Fishspey) would be the best height.

Great pictures of "THE BEAT" Jock , I've seen it very similar to this in May on years gone by but without the grue The dogs look fine - you are obviously feeding them on a better class of line now! ! Regards T
