Plans are little bit smaller than last year but Twice on Kola, Tweed and one day on Morrum has to be enough. How easy is it to organise fishing on the Morrum? Reading the websites, it looks a little confusing. As I understand it you have to put into a draw for the days you want before the season starts Or have I got it all wrong.

Morrum if famous of giant salmons up to 24kg and also very big sea trouts up to 16kg. They are few seasons worth to fish. Premiere and few days after. Fishing for kelts. Opening days it is big celebrations and almost impossible to reach licenses (lotery) . I reach it two years a go. May –June run of salmons. What is nice you see jumping fish over 1m but they are very difficult to catch. Statistically 10% people are lucky to have one attack per week. But if it happened …. If you will have rain in any time of year will be paradise! September run of big seatrouts, fishing mostly at night. The biggest problem is to reach licenses. You have to contact office and ask about possibility. Rest is easier.
What you have take in account is that run of salmon depend a lot of level and temperature of river. Hot summers are the biggest problem for this river specially that there is dame with shallow lake on upper part of river. It is very frustrating when on pool you see 10-20fish and they ignore everything but of course not always ;-)

You wont go far wrong with a Cascade or similar at that time of the year. A few tubes if the water is higher, a gold Willie Gunn or Junction Shrimp. Do you fish two different rivers on the Kola or have two trips to the same one? What colors of water has Tweed? This year I will fish on Kola one small river. Fish are not giant but fight very well. Also in nothing wrong with fish 10lbs with possibility for bigger.

A pal of mine goes over most years but to make things more reasonable he shares his rod as you get 12 hours fishing per day (statutory I believe). He is certainly not into the grand/day bracket but does pay about £350 / day which includes accomodation and food plus guide. With the cost of fishing extrapolated out the real cost comes down to a more reasonable £200 or so "all found" He has had more success this past few years than the past 30 odd years and with the ever spiralling cost of good fishing in the UK feels that it is well worth it. The Tweed will run fairly clear if the water is low, it doesn't really carry a peat stain like some other rivers. But if there has been rain, then the water can run quite muddy from some of the tributaries.

planning a trip to b.c. for next year probably the frazer river system anyone with any info would be much appreciated thanks in advance. hello flyguy. i have done the b.c trip and fished the fraser system. theres lots to explore, so it pays to hire a guide with a boat.it helps if its a jet boat, because in low water or high in the river system these boats are a must to get to the best fishing grounds, and there fast!! i would suggest sep/oct,this year the pink salmon will be running the system so that gives you 5 species of salmon to target. there in the millions! the year my parents where there they caught lots of fish. one day my mother caught 5,20lbs& salmon on a 9ft *7 fly rod. its the place were dreams are made. the trip was booked through www.riversportfishing.com or get them at info@riversportfishing.com. there based in chilliwack b.c . theres lots of accomadation in the area. my parents stayed at the RIVERBENDGUESTHOUSE.COM. BETTY & WAYNE SNERL. would recomend it. its nice and quiet and reasonable.
