Hello. Just a quick question. I am moving from the USA to Sweden this Spring and I was wondering whether I will need to have my fishing gear disinfected before I pack them for shipping? I have searched the internet for information and so far what I can gather is that no mandatory disinfection is required. I was wondering if any of you guys had any information you could pass along. Thanks a lot for any input.

pendejo, I don;t know if your gear needs to be disinfected or not, I have not heard of any dire disease in north america to worry about but at the end of the day it would not do one bit of harm if you did it anyway, freezeing for 24hrs is all you need to do, that way you avoid all the chemicals. Good luck with the move/..

If you are putting gear into storage. It would also be advisable to dip your waders in a disinfectant and make sure that they are bone dry to avoid moulds. salmo
