i had a decent year last year for the sea trout considering i couldn't start until the end of July , i found there were plenty of small fish in the Conway which bodes well for the future , maybe its not all doom and gloom as some would have you think .i will be on the river in may after those early monsters anybody else trying for the early fish billy [PS still waiting for my first Conway salmon

That's a fine sea trout from the Conwy.
It would be nice to have a good season with the sea trout - I think the last two summers were spoilt by too much rain which killed the night fishing at prime time.

The river's been low for a few weeks now so things have been quiet.
Rumour has it that a few big sea trout will run in towards the end of May, but I'm never tempted to stay late myself until the warm nights arrive.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.
Must admit I've never had any luck with sea trout on the Conwy until second half of June, but you never know!
