From some years of personal use, and lost fish just at the net, I would go for nylon everytime. Fluorocarbon can be very brittle and I have lost fish literally at the net while using fluoro if the fish slashes it's head violently. Nylon is not so brittle, and much cheaper, and can be used in different colours, depending on the conditions. In the final analysis, I guess it is down to individual preference. I have not lost any fish at the net using nylon, so I prefer that. I should also say the vast majority of what I have written is when fishing for ST at night.
