I notice there's some snow on the hills behind Montrose, with forecast of frost and more snow as the week progresses.Does this mean a river full of leaves and the fish hurtling through to the spawning grounds then?

The frost should accelerate the amount of leaves falling into the river, but a lot of fish will already be up as far as they are due to run, so they wont all be bombing through.

The fish were hurling through the Gannochy 3 weeks ago. There must have been a fish every 20 seconds going uo the ladder . Had a look yesterday and not a fishy in the entire beat. Not much water either.
Cheers

Looks like the Scottish ski spots are getting their first reasonable day of the season in today..
