this is worth a look at joining:- www.countryclubuk.com/benefits.htmI joined last year to take up the offers on London hotels etc from a work perspective - I have nothing to do with the organisation that runs it. They also have some excellent deals on fishing - they had rods on the Tweed /Thurso/Findhorn this year and also organise trips overseas - The dates have not worked for me but I have used many of the services/offers...absolute bargain for £69 and no catches.. www.countryclubuk.com/rodroom/

JSA I know we spoke by PM about this C/Club membership. It really looks too good to be true however I am not suggesting for one minute that there is anything sinister or dodgy about this organisation. Have you found it working well for you? and, I suppose the blunt and obvious question is have you saved yourself lots of money? i.e. more than the subscription? ATB Robbie

Robbie, Short answer - yes!! I saved the membership within a week. I have now used for 2 years and use for my London Hotels (get better deals than via our corporate travel agents) and use it for booking restaurants for meals with clients etc - its kind of like a concierge service. I have also used and stayed at all the private members clubs in London and actually found quite a few of the members were actually CC UK members. As I effectively live in London Mon-Fri - they rang round some of the hotels which looked good on the list and arranged for me to see them, then negotiated even better rates for me - somewhere in the region of 250 nights a year in a hotel ...how sad! and then handled all my bookings for me... Also used for buying wine/Christmas and birthday gifts for relatives. Not sure what organisation sits in the background - but they clearly have pretty vast buying power/access to spare "capacity" in hotels - not inthe internet sense but real negotiated deals with priority booking. Their own events are also good - been invited to a few now including the flysihers lunch in a couple of weeks.... Worth a shot - a lot of the country hotels on their list have outdoor activities - i.e. fishing and shooting.....
