What with fighting a losing rearguard action in Springer world and shooting up to the Annan for a couple of days, oh yes and some work in between I haven't had the opportunity to spend much time here.
So , nice to see it's developing au naturale, no contrived threads so on , so forth.
all the best

The forum is developing slowly but surely. The basic structure is in place and we can start adding sections in reponse to suggestions. What are your main areas of interest? salmo

As primarily a sea trout fisher , (but one who's thoughts are inceasingly drawn to Salar)good to see a sea trout board here. It might be good to develop a tactics section to facilitate approaches to fishing that members feel may be that little bit different , in time this woud be a good resource for total new starters and to some extent the more experienced. I guess my current fundemental interest is to become a good Salmon fisherman, I've only been at it 4/5 years and on reflection have made exactly the same mistake as I did when I started to fly fish ie too much focus on casting and not enough on fishings. I am planning to become active on the fly tying board once the season winds down, I enjoy greatly enjoy flytying and would describe myself as a good artisan rather than an artist here. I do wonder , ooh I can here the ice cracking beneath me feet ,if we should have a line pool but done differently eg individuals hold the line they're willing to loan with , no centralization. That's all for all the best now but I'll post back when I'm inspired. Lamson

Seeing your sea trout flies are more succesful than your salmon flies, suggest you start with a Moc's Cert.

My uncle always tells me that you can have all the modern gear: Goretex waders, jackets, advanced carbon fibre rods, expensive lines etc and still come away empty handed if the wee beastie on the end does not look right salmo
